Imminent Reprisal is a choose-your-own adventure game inspired by Greek mythology! Users are presented with a series of choices to dictate the protogonist's fate. The game requires users to sign in using a Gmail account in order to keep track of the attempts, or "lives", the user has left to complete the storyline.

FUNdamentals

FUNdamentals is an educational platform for young students who want to learn some of our everyday basics! This colorful and fun webapp has three learning models where students can practice the alphabet, colors, and numbers. There is a small game incorporated to each module to create a more interactive environment as well!

Work Experience

Ford Software Engineer Intern

March 2022 - August 2022

During my internship, I joined and worked with the Ford Credit Internal Systems Team.

  • Assisted with data democratization by creating Alteryx workflows that wrangle, clean, and format raw data and redirect it to a staging database
  • Streamlined the dataflow process by using SQL statements to reduce runtime from 5 hrs down to 20 minutes
  • Developed a dashboard that allows Ford business analysts to create ad-hoc reports from the cleansed data

Student Leadership Ambassador

Aug 2019 - May 2020, Aug 2021 - May 2022

I had the opportunity to work for the Student Involvement(SI) Department at San José State University as a one of their 8 Student Leadership Ambassadors!

  • Assisted in the preparation and coordination of SI events attended by 500+ attendees
  • Analyzed student satisfaction by conducting online surveys and testimonials
  • Created flyers and marketing events on the department's social media platforms (IG, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Edited and managed portions of our campus website using OU Campus when needed

Ford Software Engineer Intern

During my internship, I joined and worked with the FordPass Android Foundational Team.

  • Provided application support by helping with bug fixes and crashes that impacted 2,000+ users
  • Assisted with application maintenance as well as cybersecurity and technology upgrades
  • Partnered with software engineers to develop test driven development material for company interview use

Google Software Product Sprint (SPS)

May - August 2020

I was invited to participate in Google SPS, an 11-week program designed to help students enhance their technical and professional skills in a supportive, diverse environment. Students were matched with Google software engineers for mentorship throughout the program.

  • Created a portfolio using Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS while implementing various Google Cloud Platform APIs, including App Engine and Datastore
  • Collaborated with three peers to develop and launch a web app (FUNdamentals) in 3 weeks using Javascript, HTML, and CSS. I implemented the welcome, colors, and numbers pages as well as ensured that styling was uniform throughout the whole project

Elevate STEM Tutor

August 2019 - March 2022

I joined the 2019-2020 Cohort of tutors for a nonprofit organization called Elevate Tutoring which provides free STEM-based tutoring to underrepresented middle and high schoolers in the Bay Area. Visit the following to learn more!

  • Worked 1:1 with highschool and middle school students on various math subjects
  • Engaged in 60 hours of hands-on training that focused on helping students develop a growth mindset & building rapport
  • Collaborated with Elevate staff to develop an online tutoring format during the Covid-19 crisis and assisted in training other tutors with online tools

Google Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI)

July 2018

I was 1 of 30 nationally selected students chosen to participate in Google's CSSI at their Seattle, WA headquarters where I got the opportunity to learn from Google software engineers.

  • Developed introductory coding skills in JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, Google APIs, and Google AppEngine.
  • Worked with two other students to deploy a functioning website (Imminent Reprisal) in our final week together

HSF STEM Summit

September 2020

I was 1 of 50 women selected nationally to participate at the annual STEM Summit hosted by the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation. Surrounded by a supportive, Hispanic community, I had the opportunity develop my professional skills and network with other students and industry professionals.

Grace Hopper Convention

October 2019

In 2019, I was awarded the Grace Hopper scholarship by the GHC Scholars Program. As a Grace Hopper Scholar, I had the opportunity to travel to Florida and meet some of the brightest, female students in computer science as well as listen to successful career women give insight on the industry.
